CASE STUDY #3 – 90 DEGREE TURN CONVEYOR SYSTEM:

90 degree turn
CHALLENGE:
Making a 90 degree turn without changing product orientation.
SOLUTION & RESULTS:
A sensor was placed perpendicular to the first conveyor so when it detected product on belt 2 it interrupted belt 1, and indexed belt 2 until the product was clear. The process would repeat until belt two was full as detected with a final sensor which shut down all conveyors. The products did not touch each other or change orientation while making the 90 degree turn.
