The Kawasaki Y series delta robot is a parallel type robot that is designed for high-speed pick and place applications. The robot has a shaftless design that is easy to maintain, simple to program, and features industry-leading payload capacity, reach, and speed. The robot’s large work envelope is ideal for a wide range of high-speed handling applications. The robot can pick and place a wide array of workpieces at very high speeds, thanks to its 3 kg payload capacity. The robot’s high repeatability ensures accurate pick and place and high productivity – positional repeatability of ± 0.1 mm and angular repeatability of ± 0.1 degree.
To interface with a conveyor, an integrated 2D high-speed vision feedback system can be added for material handling and pick and place applications. The K-VFinder vision software can recognize objects of different colors and shapes to quickly locate their exact position or perform inspection of the objects. Such recognition can also be done synchronously, while objects are moving on a conveyor.
